Walk/Transit Journey – More Than a Stop: Stories Along the Line

Starts at Willowbrook/Rosa Parks Station (A/C Lines)
Join Los Angeles Walks, BikeLA, the Willowbrook Inclusion Network, and the Florence-Firestone Community Organization for a community transit journey through Willowbrook, Florence-Firestone and Watts. Along the way, we’ll take in neighborhood history, housing, public art, and the everyday places that bring people together. Through transit, photography, and conversation, we’ll imagine how our stations can be more than places we pass through: places where community, culture and collective care thrive.
The route:
- Willowbrook/Rosa Parks Station: Refreshments and introductions
- Florence Station: A community guide shares the area’s history and its affordable housing developments
- Watts Towers: Visit the towers and the surrounding neighborhood
- Back to Willowbrook/Rosa Parks: A photo-storytelling exercise and group reflections
This will be a relaxed, accessible walk with plenty of room for conversation and connection. All are welcome.
